People are seeing a lot of negativity from Trump’s US Presidency, but this company turns the hate into something you love, a typeface.
Inspiration can come from everywhere, even from something or someone who dislike. A New Zealand company, Kiwi proved it. They recently released a typeface called “Trump Face”, taking the inspiration fully from today’s US President, Donald Trump. This typeface is a part of a campaign “Love Trumps Hate” by Kiwi design company Eighty One. This campaign is in support for Prime Minister Jacinda Arden’s call at the UN for a return of humanity and decency.
Eighty one spokesperson Matt West said this collaborative design is an effort to share with the world howTrump’s controversial tenure affects America’s reputation. “We were moved to design this typeface when we realized how deeply even our distant and humble country had been affected by divisive Trump phenomenon.”
To reflect Trump’s presidency, each letter of this typeface illustrates divisive Trump stances on policies in America, such as abortion, climate change and racial equality. West adds that the typeface “draws inspiration from these issues and traits that many of our fellow citizens now associate with America”.
Eighty one is currently placing the final touches on an OpenType typeface that will soon be available for free download. In the meantime, you can download Trump Face for free from their website, here.
